"Ready for something belly filling and soul warming? This is it! Burrito in a bowl takes all my favorite flavors of a restaurant burrito with the "throw everything in one pot minutes before dinner and it's all gluten-free" ease I want on a Tuesday night.
For me this meal takes a little under an hour until we eat - since I use wild rice (it gives the recipe more substance), it takes a little longer to cook but can be added at the last minute. The best part (besides the easy, quick, gluten-free) is that this is a great beginner dish for learning to cook by taste since we all know what burritos taste like! So be prepared, this recipe isn't going to include exact measurements, I don't get crazy with the spices (no esoteric spice you have to track down!) but it will challenge you to trust your taste buds. Once you've made it and you've tasted the amazing dish you can create just "throwing some things together" you can add some different flavors, change it up, figure out what you and your fam likes the most.
The most important thing to remember when cooking with a minimal recipe is knowing what you like and tasting every step of the way. That and cheese covers a multitude of "learning to cook sins." But you'll be fine... Seriously, this is going to be fun!
Ready, Set, Go!
